Westell is currently hiring for the following positions:

Senior RF Sales Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior RF Sales Engineer to join Westell’s Sales team supporting Westell’s RF products. This position will provide RF applications engineering expertise in support of company-wide sales initiatives. The position will be based on the East Coast, preferably in a major metro city such as Boston, Atlanta, or Miami. Requires travel 65+%.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Subject matter expert regarding RF performance, installation, testing, and verification of tower and ground mounted amplifiers (TMA/GMAs) and both passive and active SISO/MIMO DAS POIs
  • Expertise in iDAS and oDAS installations, design, troubleshooting, and operation
  • Support RF solutions for customer applications, including preparation of network topologies and related technical specifications
  • Support sales team efforts to provide customers with cost-effective state-of-the-art coverage and capacity solutions using Westell solutions
  • Directly support customer presentations, equipment trials, and proof of concept deployments involving Westell RF products.
  • Create test plans to support customer validation, appropriately documenting results
  • Interface directly with customers to determine technical requirements and expectations
  • Interface with internal Engineering, Customer Service, Product Management, and other groups
  • Support complex IP network solutions that include LAN/WAN/NAT/PAT networks, routing statements, and firewalls
  • Prepare RFQs and respond to RFP/RFIs involving RF equipment and DAS technologies

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in an Engineering field, RF communications focus a strong plus
  • 5+ years general networking industry experience in selling and supporting wireless and wireline telecom service providers
  • Experience selling and supporting carrier and service provider networking infrastructure
  • Hands on experience with cellular and microwave antennas and industry standard wireless BTS and RF test sets including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, isolation testing, PIM testing, and interpreting RF power measurements,
  • Installation experience and in-depth operational knowledge of RF BDAs, passive splitters/combiners and in-line components, repeaters (specifically public safety bands), Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), TX/RX filters, TMA/GMAs, and Remote Radio Heads (RRH)
  • Knowledge of UDP and TCP/IP to include networking, NAT/PAT switching/routing, VPN/VLANs, firewalls, TDM and digital hierarchy, WAN/LAN network design, centralized server design and implementation
  • Proficiency in iBwave, minimum Level 1 certification
  • Knowledgeable with typical data protocols and specifications related to RS-232, RS449/RS-530, and Modbus
  • Familiar with Linux/Unix based OSS systems and operation
  • Must demonstrate strong written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to discuss highly technical concepts to a variety of audiences, including executive level technical decision makers
  • Willingness to travel up to 65+%
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

Marketing Program Manager – Aurora, Illinois

Westell is seeking a Marketing Program Manager to join our team.  The primary purpose of this position is to provide a variety of marketing support to the organization. The key responsibilities of this position include supporting and assisting in planning, creation and implementation of the Westell Marketing and Communication Strategy including but not limited to branding strategy, naming strategy, product positioning, marketing communication plan(s), public relations, web site concepts, social media, marketing materials and activities, and collateral materials.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support and assist in executing the overall marketing programs plan (includes advertising, website, search engine optimization, collateral, events, videos, etc.).
  • Build brand awareness and one brand (company, solution, and product messaging) and continually promote internally and externally.
  • Own corporate, solutions, and product marketing materials.
  • Ensure continual involvement and interaction with product management and sales (and other departments as needed) to ensure marketing is proactive in planning and execution of desired activities.
  • Support programs generated by other departments (creative ideas, patent, etc.).
  • Manage website product and event content.
  • Manage the planning, implementation and logistics of trade shows, regional meetings, webinars/trainings, etc., including, production of materials (binders, folders, badges, etc.), establish meeting agendas and coordinate travel schedules, etc.
  • Monitor and balance marketing event budget.
  • Responsible for formatting, submitting, and tracking of marketing campaigns associated with events. Track and report results.
  • Prepare marketing event reports by collecting, analyzing, summarizing and reporting data. Summarize and report event ROI.
  • Coordinate lead assignment from marketing events. Track, monitor and report results.
  • Coordinate and distribute marketing collateral and promotional items, maintaining an organized and updated inventory of current marketing materials and charging use to departments as appropriate.
  • Responsible for ordering event related collateral and promotional items. Track inventory and manage reorders.
  • Responsible for maintaining event calendar and disseminating as needed.
  • Prepare all purchase requisitions for event related expenses and obtain necessary approvals. Receive and close-out all associated invoices.
  • Manage, track, and report the contents of the tradeshow product demos.
  • Create Company Data Sheets, Order Guides and Kill Sheets.
  • Manage email campaigns and outbound lead creation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in marketing, business, other related fields (or equivalent work experience)
  • 2-4 years of related marketing experience

Staff Accountant – Aurora, Illinois

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in external audit activities and audit preparation
  • Assist in preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and disclosures needed for SEC reporting
  • Month end account reconciliations
  • Accounts receivable monitoring and collections
  • Inventory costing and analysis
  • Assist with review of sales and use tax filings
  • Assist in accounting and tax research
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Assist in the preparation of internal management financial reports
  • Special projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting
  • 2+ years of accounting experience is required, public accounting experience preferred
  • Outstanding organizational, analytical, project management, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work hands on, and become actively involved in all aspects of the accounting and finance function
  • Excellent Excel skills; CPA and SAP experience are a plus
