| Lucent Technologies And Westell Collaborate on IMS Solution |

Aurora, IL and Murray Hill, NJ -- Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) and Westell Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTL), a leading provider of broadband access products and conferencing services, today announced the completion of a global reseller agreement under which Lucent is reselling Westell's IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) gateway as part of its IMS-based solution. Lucent has integrated Westell's converged residential gateways into its IMS service delivery architecture to help enable voice services across cellular and WiFi networks. Fixed mobile convergence (FMC) is the first of several IMS-based applications that the two companies are developing to help accelerate the introduction of new blended services for wireline and wireless carriers. The FMC application, which includes Westell's TriLink™ IMS gateway and the Lucent Feature Server, has been interoperability tested and is available now. The integrated solution will help reduce service providers' capital and operating expenses, enabling them to focus on delivering new revenue-generating services. Westell's TriLink IMS gateway delivers an FMC solution that enables seamless roaming between fixed voice over IP and wireless networks using a dual mode mobile/WiFi phone. The gateway can interface with GSM, UMTS, CDMA and EV-DO wireless network technologies. To assure that voice communication and data traffic can be simultaneously supported with consistent, uninterrupted quality, the Westell gateway supports multiple service set identifiers (SSIDs) and provides standards-based (IEEE 802.11e) Quality of Service and advanced power management capabilities, which maximize dual mode phone battery life. Other advantages of TriLink IMS include: • Built-in ADSL2+ modem and router for easy and reliable turn-up and operation. • VersaPort2™ dedicated Ethernet WAN up-link port that supports emerging access technologies, such as Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP), or any other existing broadband connection such as a cable modem. • Two integrated SIP VoIP access ports with POTS fallback upon power loss, which minimizes the need for additional complex hardware and battery back up. • 802.11g access point for 54 Mbps wireless networking and 4-port Ethernet switch for wired networking. • Remote device management via the DSL Forum's TR-069 standard, which lowers operating costs. • Proven interoperability of 3GPP IMS with multiple carriers and softswitches. • Multi-network interoperability (fixed and mobile networks).
