SUMMARY:   The Sales Representative will be responsible for growing Public Safety product revenue in Texas.  The person will work closely with System Integrators, Distributors, Building Officials, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) contacts in the assigned area.   These efforts will include product positioning, opportunity identification through closing, revenue generation, and product forecasting.   This is an individual contributor role that will report to the VP of IBW Sales.  Training is available for a person with a strong B2B technical sales background who wants to develop expertise in a specialized, growing market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Establish local partnerships with system integrators, distributors, fire marshals, building officials, and emergency services personnel to identify and develop new opportunities
  • Build robust sales pipeline focused on emergency responder communication systems
  • Conduct demonstrations of BDA products, antennas, tappers, splitters, and related components
  • Stay current on local fire codes, municipal approval processes, and local AHJ requirements
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining local market intelligence
  • Utilize CRM to track open opportunities and forecast revenue 
    Represent Westell at trade conferences in the region
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting/exceeding B2B sales quotas, grow revenue year over year
  • Comfortable learning and presenting complex technical concepts
  • 2+ years proven B2B sales experience, preferably in technology or telecommunications
  • Proficient in Salesforce CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Existing relationships with public safety/life safety system integrators in the Texas market a plus
  • Knowledge of BDA systems, emergency responder communications, or RF technology a plus
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the territory (up to 75%)
