SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to provide daily supervision of the production department. Provide direction to production workers and manufacturing processes in sustaining assembly requirements. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assign work, provide direction, and instruct an hourly production workforce. 
  • Assure that appropriate materials are available for required production needs.
  • Monitor workflow of group and measure quality and efficiency.
  • Assist with interviewing candidates for employment, as needed.
  • Conduct effective and efficient safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Maintain sufficient knowledge of ESD, Visual Factory Management, and Right to Know Standard and train employees as necessary.
  • Ensure employees in department are certified and have received on-the-job training.
  • Communicate to hourly workforce the relevance of each employee’s position at Westell, the importance of meeting customer requirements on a timely basis, and the importance of quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in supervising, leading or managing employees.
  • A good understanding of all manufacturing functions and processes.
