SUMMARY: The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall development, implementation and maintenance of Westell’s Quality Systems and Processes as needed to meet customer requirements and those of ISO 9001 and TL9000. The person is also responsible for incoming Supplier Quality and outgoing product quality.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • LMA (two manufacturing quality personnel)
  • Own ISO 9001 / TL9000 Quality Management System
  • Production Quality
  • Supplier Quality & Own MRB
  • Customer Quality Issues & Feedback

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Manage the Westell Quality Management System and internal audits to conform to customer, and ISO 9001/TL9000 requirements.
  • Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection / calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
  • Develop and provide customer requested and ISO quality reports.
  • Manage customer quality issues.
  • New supplier approvals and monitor existing supplier quality.
  • Communicate with suppliers about quality issues, own the MRB area.
  • Develop and rollout annual Voice of Customer (VOC) survey
  • Keep up on standards, regulations / laws, issues, and news with the respect to product (service) quality.
  • Preform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or experience in a related product field.
  • Experience in an electro-mechanical assembly plant.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with IPC-A-610 standard for Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
  • 2 plus years of experience in Quality personnel.
  • Direct experience with ISO 9001 required and TL 9000 requirements a plus.
