Westell Boxer™ 10 Cabinets Receive GR-487-CORE Compliance

AURORA, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Westell Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: WSTL), a global leader of intelligent site and outside plant solutions, has received the Telcordia® GR-487-CORE, Issue 4 compliance on the Westell Boxer 10 cabinets. GR-487-CORE, Issue 4 provides the latest criteria for analyzing electronic equipment cabinets used in outside plant environments and applications for both wireline and wireless carriers.

“Our customers require outdoor enclosures that are designed and manufactured to strict standards ensuring the safety of their equipment, especially in harsh environmental conditions,” said Ben Stump, Chief Technology Office of Westell. “The Boxer line of cabinets was designed to meet GR-487-CORE requirements, but we have taken the extra step of compliance testing using an independent nationally recognized testing laboratory.”

The Boxer 10 suite of compact cabinets is lightweight and designed to store, protect, and secure outdoor electronic equipment. The cabinet is ideal for many applications including wireless backhaul, metro Ethernet, DS1, and DS3. Its ruggedized aluminum construction is durable and can withstand harsh environmental conditions such as rain, snow, sleet, salt, ice, high winds, and sand storms.
